OSU-OKC student Daniela Arvizo was recently elected as the communications director for the Oklahoma Student Government Association (OSGA). Arvizo, an OSU-OKC sophomore, will also be the OSU-OKC Student Government Association (SGA) president for 2018-19.

Arvizo, a public relations major studying Enterprise Development from Lindsay, Okla., is looking forward to her duties as OSGA communications director as she hopes to learn aspects of communication that can help her in the future.

Arvizo’s duties for OSGA include maintaining the group’s webpage and overseeing social media. She is also looking forward to an upcoming group retreat and the Fall Congress. According to Arvizo, participating in OSGA will benefit OSU-OKC’s SGA as she will be the first to hear about policy changes and big-picture student government projects.

As incoming OSU-OKC SGA president, Arvizo has plans to promote on-campus events more and heightening the overall student involvement.

In addition to being SGA president at OSU-OKC, she is also involved in the campus’ Baptist Collegiate Ministries and Hispanic Student Association.

OSGA exists to be the voice of Oklahoma students. The group meets throughout the year and encourages any student who has ideas or a passion for higher education in Oklahoma to get involved with the group. Every higher education institution has an OSGA presence and voting privileges. To find out more, visit osga.org.
