Selected Career Highlights

 
*  About 40 years science teaching experience in junior high, high school, and college.  Also many years involvement in military education.

*  Selected for Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, 1992.

*  Selected for Who's Who Among America's Teachers -- 2000, 2002, 2003-04 and 2004-05.

*  Nine first-author scientific publications in journals such as American Journal of Botany.

*  Research presentations at scientific meetings in Brisbane (Australia) and London.

Combat service in Vietnam (1969-70) as an artillery officer (PICTURES), including 28 days in Cambodia  (May 21 - June 18, 1970)

*  A 28-year military career (1968 - 1996), including four years active duty (1968 - 1972), and 24 years Army Reserve.  Final rank - Lieutenant Colonel.

*  Promoted to Associate Professor and granted tenure at Oklahoma State University - Oklahoma City in 2006.

*  Recipient of 2010-2011 OSU/A&M Board of Regents L. E. "Dean" Stringer Award for Teaching Excellence.

*  Promoted to (Full) Professor at Oklahoma State University - Oklahoma City in 2011.
