Welcome to the OSU-Oklahoma City Office of Veterans’ Services Center website. We serve as a liaison in certifying veterans for educational benefits. If you are a new student receiving benefits for the first time we encourage you to stop by our office for important information about your enrollment and the filing procedures for your benefits. It is your responsibility as a student to be aware of, and to fulfill, all requirements for receipt of your veteran’s benefits.
The following types of students are eligible to claim Veteran Services benefits:
- Active duty servicepersons (Chapter 30 Active Duty)
- Active duty veterans (Chapter 30, Chapter 33)
- Veterans on the VA Vocational Rehabilitation Program (Chapter 31)
- National Guard and Reserve Personnel (Chapter 1606 and 1607)
- Individuals eligible to receive benefits under the Survivors and Dependents Assistance
Program (Chapter 35)
Talent Search provides these personalized services to veterans:

Tips for Veteran Student Enrollment
- The VA will ONLY pay for classes that are on the student’s CURRENT degree plan.
- The VA will not pay for physical education classes. The VA will NOT pay for ANY online remedial classes.
- The VA will not pay for a class if a student has successfully passed the class. (Example: for a better grade, refresher, etc.) Unless it is required for the major such as nursing or it is a remedial class that must be passed with a C or better.
- Please, inform the OSU-OKC Veteran Service Office of schedule changes to Chapter 33 schedules as the student’s tuition and fees are reported to the VA. Chapter 33 schedule adjustments result in recalculations of tuition and fees which must be reported to the VA within 30 days! Delays in reporting adjustments to the VA create debt letters to OSU-OKC and to the student.
- VA pays education benefits for nonstandard enrollment periods (1st eight weeks, 2nd eight weeks, and fast track classes) based on credit equivalents. Schools report actual number of credits per EACH enrollment period. (1st eight/four weeks, 2nd eight/four weeks, and fast track classes are all reported individually.) When enrollment periods overlap, credit hour equivalents for the period of overlap are combined.
- Any changes in your enrollment status need to be reported to the OSU-OKC Veterans’ Service Center in a timely manner to prevent an overpayment. Any overpayment created by a failure to notify us of enrollment changes must be paid before a student can continue to receive V.A. Educational Benefits.
- Chapters 30, 1606, and 1607 don’t forget to self-certify your enrollment to the V.A. by calling (877) 823-2378 or by logging on to www.gibill.va.gov and accessing the WAVE link
Request for Certification. Print out form, complete, fax, email or bring to OSU-OKC VA Office once you are enrolled. This is required every semester that you enroll.
You must notify our office of the following:
- Adds
- Drops
- Withdrawals
- Canceled courses
- Degree changes
- Major changes
- Non-attendance
- Repeated courses
Failure to notify the OSU-OKC Veteran Services Office of changes could result in delays in your payments from the V.A. or an overpayment which will cause you to reimburse the V.A for paid courses.
