Defensive Driving program for Teens and Young Adults

Teen Driving Course DatesPresented by OSU-OKC’s Precision Driving Training Center
and the Oklahoma Safety Council

The OSU-OKC Precision Driving Training Center recognizes the significant need for defensive driving skills for teen drivers in our community. The Defensive Driving program for Teens and Young Adults is a partnership between OSU-OKC’s PDTC and the Oklahoma Safety Council.

Alive@25This is a one-day, hands-on course developed to provide defensive driver training techniques to teen drivers. Students will engage in the Alive@25 classroom curriculum then complete hands-on vehicle training at the OSU-OKC PDTC.
 

Each driver will be taught the following modules:

Classroom:

  • Unsafe Driving Behaviors
  • Safety Restraints
  • Personal Responsibility

Hands-on:

  • Shuffle Steering
  • Backing & Cornering
  • Off-road Recovery
  • Collision Avoidance
  • Skid Avoidance & Recovery
SkidCar Training
Oklahoma’s ONLY training facility that includes hands-on SkidCar training. Learn how to avoid hydroplaning and snow and ice skids.

  • One-day courses held monthly
  • 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Limited to 12 students
  • Cost is $125, with personal vehicle
  • Insurance Reduction Certificate awarded upon completion

Young guy looking upParticipants must be between the ages of 15-1/2 & 21, have basic driving experience and a learner’s permit.
