Surveying Technology

Thank you for your interest in the Surveying program at OSU-Oklahoma City! Graduates can earn the comprehensive two-year Associate of Applied Science in Surveying Technology degree on campus and online. It is an excellent choice for anyone wishing to pursue or advance a career in surveying.

OSU-OKC’s surveying program is a well-rounded, practical surveying education balancing theory and practical application. Graduates have a strong foundation, and the knowledge and skills to be productive surveyors when they enter the field.

Students are educated in the many facets of surveying including:

  • surveying fundamentals
  • geodesy
  • photogrammetry
  • remote sensing
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Global Positioning System (GPS)
  • Computer-aided Design (CAD)
  • least squares adjustments
  • residential subdivision design
  • route surveying
  • legal principles focused on Public Land Survey System (PLSS)

With active support from the Oklahoma Society of Land Surveyors, students have the opportunity to join OSU-OKC’s OSLS chapter and apply for one of the scholarships offered annually. Students that are active members of the on-campus chapter can attend the annual conference free of charge (some restrictions may apply).

Please take time to watch the video “Measuring the World Around Us – a High Tech Career in Surveying,” (below) and to visit the OSLS website to look at the links for more information on the variety of career paths available.
