Biography

 

Dennis Smith is an Associate Professor of Humanities at Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City.  Mr. Smith attended Northeastern State University, located in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where he earned his Bachelors of Art in studio art with minors in Anthropology and Speech/Drama, and a Masters of Science in College Teaching with emphasis in Fine Arts/Humanities.  Before joining the teaching staff of OSU-OKC, Mr. Smith taught as an adjunct instructor at Redlands Community College, and the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, and also served as Executive Director of several non-profit organizations in the arts, and historic preservation.  An accomplished painter, he has participated in shows throughout the southwest and is represented in both private and public collections.  Mr. Smith was recently awarded an Honorary Doctor of Humanities, from the NCI Bible College, located in Decatur, GA, for his many contributions to society, education, and church.  Mr. Smith resides in Chickasha, OK, where he enjoys spending time with his four children and eight grandchildren.
