Acceptance Requirements

Selection of applicant into the Dietetic Technician Education Program is based on total point scores. All students applying to the program must have a minimum of a 2.0 cumulative grade point average. The top 20 students with the highest points will be accepted into the program.

 

I. Grade Point Average

 

(College courses OR high school) using the following guidelines:

 

12 hours college credit or more = use cumulative GPA
11 hours college credit or less = use high school GPA

 

3.5 – 4.0 ... 30 points
3.0 – 3.49 ... 20 points
2.5 – 2.99 ... 10 points

 

II. Required College Hours Completed

 

Students earn one (1) point for each credit hour completed with a “C” or better in courses required for the degree in Nutritional Sciences (32 points possible).

 

Students may earn additional points for each of the following science courses completed with a “C” or better:

 

CHEM 1214 or 1314 ... 2 points
BIOL 1515 ... 5 points
(7 points possible)

 

Students will earn one point for each non-Nutritional Sciences course required for the degree taken at OSU-OKC (10 points possible)
