Criterion Four –
Acquisition, Discovery, and Application of Knowledge
OSU-Oklahoma City values a life of learning and that can be seen in the actions
and interactions of its administrators, advisory board, students, faculty and staff.
Assessment is crucial to the process, whether it is for proper placement of students,
to identify what they have learned or to evaluate degree programs and business/industry
non-credit classes for relevancy. Teaching strong core courses, while vital to our
students academic and career success, is not enough. They identify the work they
plan to do, learn the specifics of that work and experience how it applies to real
life. They must also be supported in the process with student services and opportunities
to interact with the community in which they live. OSU-Oklahoma City not only prepares
them “to live and work in an increasingly technological and global world”
– these students learn to think “globally” for life, continually
adding, processing and applying new information to continue to grow and succeed.
