OSU-Oklahoma City’s Higher Learning Commission/North Central Association self
study report is divided into five criteria. Each criterion has three elements: Criterion
Statement, Core Components, and Examples of Evidence. These statements and accompanying
examples of evidence are used to define the various attributes of OSU-Oklahoma City.
This is basically our opportunity to tell “our” story.
In criterion one, we begin our story by examining the Mission and Integrity of OSU-Oklahoma
City. It is here that we ask ourselves not so much who we are but more so why we
are. We look at our mission and core values and then look for its presence in everything
we do. As the various faculty, staff and students have explored this subject in
criterion one, we have seen that virtually everything is influenced by our mission,
from the academic courses and various student services to the technology and facilities
that support the institution.
Perhaps one of the best things about the development of the criterion one portion
of the self study has been the conversations and brainstorming that has occurred
within the diverse groups of faculty, staff and students. The collaborative efforts
resulted in more than just the identification of our strengths but also the areas
that we improve upon to become an even greater OSU-Oklahoma City.
