Congratulations to our faculty, staff and students!
The NCA/HLC evaluators team will recommend full ten-year continued accreditation for OSU-Oklahoma City to the North Central Association Higher Learning Commission. This team recommendation includes one progress report, due May 1, 2012, on two concerns.
- Systemic professional development plan for full-time and adjunct faculty
- Additional general education requirements for the bachelor of technology degree
I am very proud of the hard work and dedication each of you has invested in the success of our campus and this accreditation visit.
Job well done!

OSU-Oklahoma City first received accreditation by and membership in the Higher Learning
Commission/North Central Association in 1979. Once accredited, the institution voluntarily
agreed to meet all obligations of affiliation, including undergoing periodic review
and submission of reports. The periodic review required the institution to conduct
an extensive self-study of all aspect of institutional performance.
It has been ten years since the last visit of the Higher Learning Commission/North
Central Association to OSU-Oklahoma City. At that time our institution was granted
full ten-year accreditation. These have been years of dynamic growth at OSU-OKC
from programs offered to student enrollment, community partnerships and the campus
itself, with new buildings added and continuous update of technology in classrooms
and offices. Seeking ongoing accreditation, we have been working diligently for
the last two years, preparing our Self-Study report and inviting HLC/NCA to send
a site visit team to examine our methods and our results.
Continued HLC/NCA accreditation is based upon five criteria:
OSU- Oklahoma City’s task has been to provide examples of evidence that these
criteria for accreditation continue to be met. This is accomplished through the
Self-Study report and the HLC/NCA team site visit.
Compiling the OSU-Oklahoma City Self-Study was a two-year process that involved
the entire campus – telling “our” story factually and thoroughly
was vital and required input from all sources (students, faculty, staff, advisory
committee members, community/education partners, etc).
The Self-Study is in the hands of the HLC/NCA team members, and their visit to our
campus is scheduled for February 22-24, 2010. The report and site visit allow us
to demonstrate how OSU-Oklahoma City continues to meet, and often exceeds, Higher
Learning Commission/North Central Association criteria expectations.
