OSU-Oklahoma City’s Higher Learning Commission/North Central Association self study report is divided
into five criteria. Each criterion has three elements: Criterion Statement, Core
Components, and Examples of Evidence. These statements and accompanying examples
of evidence are used to define the various attributes of OSU-Oklahoma City. This
is basically our opportunity to tell “our” story.
Teaching and learning is the heart and soul of higher education and the primary
mission of OSU-Oklahoma City. HLC/NCA Criterion Three focuses on the teaching and
learning process to ensure that our campus not only provides the highest quality
of instruction in all of our classes, but that we also demonstrate exactly what
our students have learned. Using the latest techniques and technology, our well-qualified
full-time and adjunct faculty not only teaches our students, but actively involves
them in the learning process through hands-on, practical experiences. Through systematic
assessment of student mastery of course and program objectives, faculty can document
student learning and use the results of these assessments to continuously improve
OSU-OKC programs.
Mission
The mission of OSU–Oklahoma City is to develop and deliver collegiate-level
career and transfer educational programs, professional development and support services,
which prepare individuals to live and work in an increasingly technological and
global community.
The HLC/NCA 2010 effort is an opportunity for us to tell our story...
OSU-Oklahoma City’s Higher Learning Commission/North Central Association (HLC/NCA)
accreditation site visit is February 22, 23 and 24, 2010. Accreditation is one of
the most important functions we fulfill as a higher education institution. The HLC/NCA
2010 effort is an opportunity for us to tell our story. We, as a cohesive campus
family, have a chance to demonstrate to everyone that the work we do day in and
day out produces excellence for our students, our campus and our community.
The process includes a comprehensive self-study report that provides the HLC/NCA
site visit team information about every aspect of our organization. It is critical
to the success of the self-study that all full-time employees on our campus be involved.
Every employee serves on one of the committees representing the five criteria essential
to a successful accreditation visit.
Students are also involved on HLC/NCA committees. For our students, it means that
the degrees they earn don’t just carry the Oklahoma State name, but the honor
and prestige of having graduated from one of the finest universities in America.
Welcome to HLC/NCA 2010!
