Biography

Jerald (Jerry) Rice was born and raised in a bilingual, bicultural community on the Mexican border in southwest Texas. He has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Religious Education and a Doctor of Ministry degree.

 

He and his family lived for 21 years in Mexico City and San José, Costa Rica, where he taught (among other things) community education and leadership development courses for ministerial preparation. During that time he also interpreted for international education conferences and assisted with medical teams in Mexico and Central America, along with translating numerous textbooks and educational resources from English into Spanish.

 

Since returning to the U.S. in 2007, he has been the coordinator of OSU-OKC’s Technical Spanish-Translation and Interpretation program, with emphases in Health Care and Legal interpreting and translation. He has been a volunteer interpreter for the INTEGRIS Community Clinic for over 8 years.

 

Dr. Rice is an American Translators Association Certified Spanish>English Translator, and a Registered Courtroom Interpreter for the Oklahoma Supreme Court.
