Biography

Dr. Doug Baker joined the fulltime faculty at OSU-OKC in August 1991. He has two bachelor degrees, one in History and the other in Religion. He earned an M.A. in History at what then was called Central State University in Edmond and a Doctor of Ministry degree (D. Min.) in Biblical Studies from a non-denominational seminary in Oklahoma. Dr. Baker has co-authored both U.S. History textbooks for OSU-OKC, The American Journey, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, and has written numerous papers on a variety of subjects in philosophy and religion. He pioneered our World Religions class when it was first called The Religions of Mankind. He served eight years as the pastor of a small congregation in Yukon, and he and his wife operate their own independent online ministry called Builders of Faith (http://www.builders-of-faith.org). He loves getting his students to think for themselves. His favorite courses to teach are World Religions and Introduction to Philosophy.
