After graduating from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology, James Cross began his career as a safety engineer with Exxon-Mobil.
Later Cross worked as a health and safety manager for a manufacturing company in Oklahoma City and now is a full-time faculty member in the Fire Protection and Safety Technology Department at OSU-Oklahoma City. He is responsible for department head duties as well as teaching three to four classes per semester. In addition, he develops continuing education outreach courses in fire protection, safety and environmental topics at the OSU-OKC Technology Education Center.
Continuing his education after coming to OSU-OKC, Cross earned a Master of Science in Industrial Hygiene from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City.
