Jason Stone's  Biography:

 

Mr. Stone is a fifth generation Oklahoman who teaches Communication and Public Speaking skills.  Mr. Stone teaches Introduction to Speech Communication and Interpersonal Communication at OSU-OKC.  Mr. Stone also serves as the Department Head of Humanities at OSU-OKC and the State-wide President of the Oklahoma Association of Developmental Education.  Mr. Stone has over a decade of work experience in higher education.  Mr. Stone has delivered keynote addresses, taught classes, managed budgets, planned special events, designed promotional materials, and published books and journal articles.

 

Mr. Stone has over 10 years of professional experience in the private and public sectors across many disciplines including consulting, commercial real estate acquisition, due diligence research, technical writing, and education. 

 

Mr. Stone’s areas of expertise include:  keynote public speaking, classroom instruction, training delivery, process improvement, communication and technology audits, new technology adoption, team building facilitation, leadership development, executive speech coaching, grant writing and academic program review. 

 

Mr. Stone has produced technical writings for Column Financial, First Union Bank, Paine Webber, Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, GE, Capital Real Estate, Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan Chase Bank, UBS, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, GMAC Commercial Mortgage, Wells Fargo, Trammell & Crow, Greenberg Traurig and many other Fortune 500 Companies and respected Law Firms.

 

In addition to this experience, Mr. Stone has consulted academic organizations, unions, non-profits, and political candidates.

 

Mr. Stone received a BA in Speech/Communication from Southeastern Louisiana University where he was Captain of the Debate team, an All-American Debater, and a recipient of the President’s Excellence Scholarship.  Mr. Stone earned a Masters degree from Ball State University in Communication Liberal Arts Studies where he received a Teaching and Debate Coaching Assistantship.  Mr. Stone has won numerous awards for teaching, adult education, and training from a variety of organizations.

 

Mr. Stone's most recent publication will appear in the Winter Issue of Academic Exchange Quarterly; it is titled "Ivory towers, information silos, and extinction".  This article explores why multi-disciplinary cooperation in higher education is necessary to avert human extinction.  

 

Mr. Stone enjoys reading, applying technology, watching and playing football, playing chess, listening to music, coaching little league football, and playing the guitar.

 

Mr. Stone makes his home in Edmond with his wife and two children.
