Veterinary Technology – Smart Classroom

A generous grant award from the Kirkpatrick Foundation to OSU-Oklahoma City will equip a Smart Classroom for the new veterinary technology department area in the Agriculture Resource Center. This state-of-the art facility will allow for transmission of real-time activities and provide for collaboration between OSU-OKC’s vet tech program and the Center for Veterinary Health Sciences (CVHS) in Stillwater, as well as other departments on the OSU-OKC campus. The Smart Classroom is an innovative approach to learning, attracting students to the field of veterinary technology and exposing them to employment opportunities at CVHS; it will also offer an outstanding venue to the community with increased capacity for conferences, guest speakers and distance education opportunities.

Health Services/Nursing – Scholarship

Deaconess Hospital Auxiliary has gifted OSU-Oklahoma City with a contribution that established the Deaconess Hospital Auxiliary Nursing Scholarship Fund to provide need-based scholarships for licensed practical nurses and paramedics entering their third or fourth semester of the OSU-OKC Nursing program. Because many scholarships are available only to the traditional (first-year) nursing student, the Deaconess scholarships will be particularly beneficial in alleviating financial hardships for advanced students by defraying the cost of tuition, textbooks and fees.

Project Second Chance – Scholarship

The Tom S. & Marye Kate Aldridge Charitable & Educational Foundation has established the Project Second Chance Aldridge Foundation Scholarship for participants in good standing of Project Second Chance (PSC) at OSU-Oklahoma City. As low-income single parents, PSC students often face challenges that affect their abilities to pursue their education. The PSC Aldridge Foundation Scholarship will supplement federal grants funds and pay up to $1,000 per recipient per calendar year to cover tuition for up to six credit hours and necessary books, lab fees and specific items for completion of coursework.
