ACT (Residual) – This test covers the same four subject areas as the National ACT, but scores will only be accepted at Oklahoma State University campuses. The residual ACT can be taken every 60 days. A brochure describing the residual ACT can be picked up in the Assessment Center. Cost: $40, must be paid to the OSU-OKC Business Office prior to registration Time: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dates: Please contact the office for exact dates at 945-8648. The Residual ACT is not given in October.
CLEP - College-Level Examination Program - CLEP is a national test used to obtain college credit for the equivalent course. A list of courses and study guides can be picked up in the Testing and Assessment Center. Cost: $85 ($100 for Freshman Composition I and II test) Time: 1.5 hours (Freshman Composition, 3 hours)
AP, Advanced Placement (administered by the College Entrance Examination Board) – This program allows high school students to take examinations for credit at the college level. High school counselors will assist students with testing arrangements. Scores of 1 and 2 are not acceptable for credit.
COMPASS™ – Prospective students take COMPASS™ for placement purposes at OSU-OKC. COMPASS™ is a comprehensive, computerized test system that determines appropriate placement in reading, writing and math courses. Students can take this test up to three times per semester. Individuals who have not graduated from high school, or do not have a GED, must pass all parts of the COMPASS at one testing session to qualify for financial aid. Prospective students must inform the testing staff that they are taking Ability to Benefit tests. Cost: First time, no charge for prospective OSU-OKC students. Retakes, $4 per test. $15 charge if taking this test for another institution. Time: No time limit. Should allow at least three to four hours for all three tests.
