James Walton

Web Communications Manager

With more than two decades here, James Walton has been an integral part of OSU-Oklahoma City’s graphic technology and Website advancement. He started on campus as the only graphic artist before there was any form of electronic publishing. Walton’s accolades range from the OSU-OKC Distinguished Staff Award to the Oklahoma College Public Relations Association Cornerstone Award, which he received for his passion for quality and determination to seek out innovative technologies. In 2010, OCPRA awarded the Communications Team with the Grand Award in Web Design for “The Club” Webpage, which James uniquely designed. This is an award category James has won a few times for the campus as well as several awards in graphic and publication design.

James is Web Communications Manager for OSU-OKC’s Website which means he is busy developing new Webpages and sub-sites, monitoring analytics on Web usage, working with Information Systems on Website technology and upgrading/updating existing Web pages. His artistic talent isn’t limited to the Internet, James hand-painted the Student Center cafeteria columns to represent graduates working in their chosen careers and hand-lettered the OSU-OKC mission statement over the Student Services entrance. His 2000 redesign of the OSU-OKC Website was adopted by OSU-Stillwater as the complete system Website style.
