Intergenerational Program

Our school has built a relationship with Epworth Villa retirement living center whereby we have independent living residents come to our school each week as part of our “Rock a bye baby” group. This particular group of “Grand friends” comes each Thursday for one hour and interacts with our infants, toddlers and two-year olds. We are absolutely thrilled to have our “Grand friends” here, and so are our babies.

CDLS Intergenerational ProgramNext with our intergenerational group we will be introducing our Musical Therapy group with our older children. We will be participating in some intergenerational yoga (our Grand friends will sit next to our older friends and help us balance in some of our poses). That will definitely be a fun adventure.

Lastly we will begin construction on our intergenerational garden consisting of five (5) raised gardening beds where we will be able to garden side-by-side with our Grand friends. Materials have been ordered, we are in the design phase and shortly we’ll have some beautiful gardening beds.
