Housekeeping Services Hosts Innovative Trade Show, Educational Seminar

OSU-Oklahoma City’s Housekeeping Services recently hosted a Treat’s Solutions, Inc. Customer Appreciation Trade Show and Seminar. This marks the second year for the event to take place in Oklahoma City.

Approximately 200 people attended the event, which aimed to educate those in attendance on the importance of protecting K12 schools and universities’ custodial departments from outsourcing.

“Over the last decade, Treat’s Solutions has provided school districts and colleges workload data and critical reports for maintenance and operations departments,” said Jerrad Treat, Treat’s Solutions Cleaning Cost Analysis Program director. “In today’s world, we must do more with less. We provide the tools that administration departments need to answer tough facility management questions.”

OSU-OKC Housekeeping Services Manager Harold Gentry says the event was open to the public so they will be knowledgeable of what goes on in the custodial atmosphere.

“We have come a long way from using the traditional mop and bucket cleaning process to using high-tech equipment and cleaning strategies that allow us to perform at a very high rate,” Gentry said. “It is nice to be able to show our customers that we are functioning at the level we should be.”

Gentry says the event couldn’t take place without the support from OSU-OKC administration, which has a vested interest in the direction the campus is moving. In the future, he would like to see the event grow. With a rising number of attendants, there is a possibility the event will stream live on the campus’ website next year.

“Next year I would like to see the event expand to other areas of our campus,” Gentry said. “By joining up with Treat’s Solutions and using the training for different levels of certification, we soar to levels of expertise that make us proud.”

The Trade Show featured several manufacturer representatives from various companies including Hillyard, Rollpak, Seatex, Baywest, Vondrehle, N.A.C.E, Advance, DEB SBS, Brulin, Vectair Systems, Triple SSS and Kutol.
