OSU-Oklahoma City’s annual Counselor Appreciation Luncheon recently had the largest turnout in the event’s history. The luncheon is the university’s opportunity to acknowledge the high school and career technology center counselors that help promote OSU-OKC’s campus.
Throughout the course of the school year, the OSU-OKC recruitment team visits area schools with the luncheon being a chance for the counselors to come visit the campus.
“We feel that it is important to our partnerships with these schools that they actually get to see where they are sending many of their students,” said Kyle Williams, Enrollment Management director. “We believe that this event helps to strengthen our relationship with area high schools and career tech centers.”
During the luncheon, OSU-OKC recruiters and academic divisions deliver a presentation about the campus and its degree programs. Presenters highlight new programs that counselors may not be aware of as well as provide them with a brief glimpse into future projects.
Williams says this year’s event was also the perfect opportunity to talk to community partners about OSU-OKC’s upcoming accreditation visit in February and upcoming Web site features that will be online in spring.
“We could not be more excited by the wonderful turnout this year,” Williams said. “This was the largest attendance we have ever had at this event. The recruitment team is already brainstorming new ideas to make next year’s event even more successful.”
